Overview
The 2021 Dalwhinnie The Pinnacle Shiraz is a single vineyard Pyrenees Shiraz from the highest and steepest site on the estate. Sourced from a prized cool-climate vintage, it captures Dalwhinnie's signature balance of dark fruit intensity, spice, fine structure and long-lived elegance.
Vintage & Winemaking
2021 was a standout vintage at Dalwhinnie, with a mild and long growing season allowing fruit to be picked at optimal ripeness while retaining moderate alcohol and fine structure.
The Pinnacle vineyard is the highest and steepest site on the estate. The fruit was hand harvested, destemmed and divided into small open-fermented batches. After 15 days on skins, the wine was pressed to new and used French oak puncheons and matured on ferment lees for 14 months.
