Overview

The 2016 Dalwhinnie Moonambel Shiraz is a mature-release Pyrenees red from one of Victoria's most iconic high-altitude estates. Full-bodied, dark-fruited and firmly structured, it reflects Dalwhinnie's brooding yet elegant cool-climate Shiraz style.

Vintage & Winemaking

The fruit was crushed and destemmed, then fermented for eight days followed by 14 days of post-ferment maceration. The wine was matured for 17 to 18 months in French oak, with 33% new oak.

Dalwhinnie's Moonambel vineyard sits at 595 metres above sea level in the Pyrenees, with ancient soils, cool steady nights and a remote amphitheatre-like site that gives the wines depth, structure and long ageing potential.
