Why This Release Matters

Pierre Girardin has quickly become one of the most talked-about young producers in Burgundy, known for wines that combine purity, tension and modern precision with a clear respect for classic terroir. The 2023 vintage further strengthens that reputation, offering a wide-ranging release that captures both the refinement of Burgundy and the adventurous energy of Jura.

In Burgundy, the whites show freshness, mineral drive and beautifully balanced acidity, while the reds carry fine structure, aromatic depth and clarity. Pierre has described the 2023 reds as sharing similarities with the 2021 vintage, showing assertive structure and aromatic lift, while the whites are closer in style to 2022, with improved acid balance and impressive purity.

The Jura wines add another fascinating dimension to the release. They bring a Burgundian sense of precision to Jura’s distinctive soils and grape varieties, especially through Savagnin cuvées that show salinity, mineral tension and a slightly unconventional charm. For white Burgundy lovers looking to explore something more adventurous, these Jura wines are especially worth attention.

For collectors, this release brings together established favourites, new vineyard additions and extremely limited top cuvées. With strong demand across both the Premier Cru and Grand Cru Burgundy selections, as well as growing interest in Pierre’s Jura project, quantities are expected to be very limited.
