94/100 — Kara Newman, Wine Enthusiast · Non Vintage
“Wheat whiskey and malt whiskey are matured in Australian red wine barrels, including Barossa Shiraz, creating toasty vanilla aromas and a plush palate that suggests oatmeal cookie, brown sugar, shortbread and cherry, leading into a mouthwatering finish tinged with coconut, orange peel and nutmeg.”
90/100 — Whisky Advocate · Non Vintage
“Aromatic spices, scents of bleached driftwood, and hints of bramble and blackcurrant on this blend of wheat and malt whiskies matured in Australian red wine barrels. The palate shifts quickly from white to milk chocolate, red apple, crème de cassis, peppercorn spices, and cookies, but it's soft and gentle, finely structured, with more dark fruits coming to the fore. The finish is drying and short, with evaporating spice.”
About This Whisky
An Australian double-grain whisky made using malted barley for depth and Australian wheat for an aromatic, dry flavour. Each component is matured separately in lightly charred or steamed Australian red wine barrels sourced from Shiraz, Cabernet and Pinot Noir producers, often filled while still wet with wine, before being combined.
Tasting Notes
Smooth and approachable with spiced vanilla, tropical fruits and cereal characters, rounded with red apples and berries.
