Overview
Dow's 30 Year Old Tawny Port is a rare, exquisitely mature fortified wine from Portugal's Douro region. Master Blender Charles Symington selects it from stocks laid down decades ago by his father, Peter Symington. Just eleven or twelve suitable casks are available for selection each year.
Blend and Maturation
The blend comprises 35% Touriga Nacional, 35% Touriga Franca and 30% Touriga Barroca. Three decades of maturation in seasoned oak develop the wine's coppery-amber colour, layered aromatic complexity and luxurious texture while preserving Dow's characteristically elegant, dry finish.
Producer Tasting Notes
With a coppery-amber colour framed by a pale orange-green rim, this wine shows saline scents alongside elegant floral notes and a touch of cinnamon.
Luxurious and silky on the palate, Dow’s 30 Year Old Tawny is extremely refined with flavours of quince, citrus and a stylish, lingering dry finish with nuances of tea leaf.

Light golden brown, orange touch, broad ochre rim. Candied mandarin zest, a hint of dried figs, some nougat, sweet cherries, inviting bouquet. Tightly woven, juicy, very elegant and dense … very harmonious, long nougat aftertaste.

This is a beautiful wine, aged tawny at its peak. The wood aging has given the old gold character that shines through the spirit, the sweet nuttiness and hints of red fruits to give a plush, wood-paneled wine that, of course, is ready to drink.
