In 2006, Don Julio and his family planted his final agave field. In honour of his devotion and craftsmanship, this agave harvest was set aside for a special distillation. After 3 years of aging, the result was a special Extra Anejo Tequila. To preserve this tequila and the exquisite agave pinas behind it, our master distiller has implemented a Solera aging system.

The Solera aging method blends and matures tequilas of different characteristics and ages, allowing Don Julio's final agave harvest to remain at the heart of this rare tequila.Ā Don Julio's Ultima Reserva has been rested in oak, previously used to age bourbon, and finished in seasoned Madeira wine casks.
