Overview
The 2026 Rieslingfreak No.8 Polish Hill River Schatzkammer Riesling is a low-alcohol, finely balanced sweet Riesling from a tiny 0.4 hectare parcel in Polish Hill River. Built around succulent residual sweetness, crackling acidity and citrus purity, it captures Rieslingfreak's precision with this distinctive style.
Vintage & Winemaking
The 2026 vintage began four weeks later than 2025, following delayed flowering, slow ripening and careful vineyard management. Although almost 90mm of rain fell in 48 hours shortly after harvest began, quick work from growers and the winery preserved fruit quality, producing Rieslings of purity, elegance and poise.
No.8 is sourced from Riesling Block D6 in the Polish Hill River vineyard, 5km south-east of Clare. Owned by Rob and Lyn Jaeschke, the vineyard sits on grey-brown loam over sandy limestone and shale rock. The selected block is a tiny 0.4 hectare planting in a small gully, with vines around 20 years old on 44-year-old rootstock.
