Overview
The 2026 Henschke Peggy's Hill Eden Valley Riesling is a crisp, aromatic white wine from one of Australia's great Riesling regions. Named after Peggy Hill, a local landmark between the villages of Eden Valley and Keyneton, this wine draws on longstanding Eden Valley growers with vines ranging from 10 to 70 years of age.
Produced from vineyards grown in low-vigour ancient Cambrian soils at around 500m altitude, Peggy's Hill reflects Eden Valley's hallmark citrus purity, floral lift and fine natural acidity.
Vintage & Winemaking
The 2026 season began with below-average rainfall, followed by a warm spring that encouraged even budburst and strong early shoot growth. Late October and November rain supported vine growth, although a severe frost event on 12 November affected vineyards across the region. Cooler late-spring conditions delayed flowering, while a mild start to summer was interrupted by two weeks of January heatwaves.
Careful vineyard management protected the fruit, and later rain events followed by mild weather allowed a long, slow ripening period. Vintage began in late February, delivering moderate yields of excellent quality and strong varietal expression. The wine was fermented in tank and bottled post-vintage to preserve delicate aromatics and freshness.
