Overview

Polish Hill is Grosset's benchmark single-vineyard Riesling, grown biodynamically in the Polish Hill River sub-region of Clare Valley. The 2026 release combines intense lime and citrus with the site's distinctive slate and chalky minerality, delivering a precise, bone-dry Riesling with the structure and persistence to develop for decades.

Vineyard

The Polish Hill Vineyard was established in 1996 and is now 30 years old. The Riesling is planted on exceptionally hard, rocky slate soils that demand extensive hand-working. Grosset attributes the increasing resilience of the vines and expressiveness of the fruit to the demanding nature of this site. The vineyard is farmed biodynamically and forms part of Grosset's ACO Certified Organic and Biodynamic vineyards and winery.

Winemaking

The Riesling is hand harvested and produced using free-run juice with no fining.

Grosset: “Wonderfully aromatic and intensely fragrant with lifted lime blossom and the smell of slate. Full-throttle power meets the vineyard’s finesse. Intense lime drives the mid-palate with precision, supported by chalky minerality and bone-dry structure. Persistent length reveals citrus complexity. Bright, captivating in youth, yet balanced with backbone to age gracefully.”

“Pink grapefruit, fresh lime, aniseed, thyme and assorted herbs, with something of a violet and lavender perfume. This is very stony and strict, a little grainy grip, light but intense with lime zest and perfume on a tight

quinine-laced finish of excellent length. A classic vintage for this wine. Cool but perfectly formed.”
