Overview
A bright and expressive Yarra Valley Pinot Noir combining concentrated red and dark fruit with floral lift, savoury whole-bunch complexity and fine persistent tannins. Small-batch fermentation and varying levels of whole bunch inclusion bring freshness, texture and structure to the wine.
Vineyard
Drawn from selected blocks across the vineyard and blended from Pommard, 943, Abel and MV6 clones. Each contributes its own character, bringing together vibrant fruit, aromatic lift, texture and structure.
Winemaking
Fermented in small batches with varying levels of whole bunch inclusion, ranging from none to 100%. The wine was hand plunged throughout fermentation, then gently pressed and transferred by gravity to a combination of 300L hogsheads and 228L barriques. Malolactic fermentation was completed before winter in the cool underground cellar.
Producer Tasting Notes
Heady aromas of cherry, blackberry, vanilla and violet florals lead into a glossy, silky palate. Generous fruit is balanced by savoury complexity from whole bunch inclusion, helping to temper the richness while adding lift and structure. Fine but persistent tannins provide shape and length, carrying the wine through a long, balanced finish.
Cellaring
Made to be enjoyed young and bright, this Pinot Noir is drinking beautifully now and will continue to evolve with careful cellaring for up to five years.
