Overview
The flagship wine from Two Paddocks, this estate Pinot Noir is an organically grown barrel selection drawn from four Central Otago vineyards across Bannockburn, Gibbston and Alexandra. The 2025 vintage combines bright red and dark berry fruit with savoury herbs, spice and mineral detail, supported by fine tannins and an elegant, persistent texture.
Vintage
The 2024ā25 growing season began with above-average early rainfall and two significant snow events, resulting in a slow start to spring growth. A late frost on 3 November caused minor damage at The Fusilier Vineyard in Bannockburn and First Paddock in Gibbston, while the two Alexandra vineyards were unaffected. Optimum flowering and fruit set followed in December, before warm late-summer conditions provided excellent conditions for ripening.
Vineyard & Viticulture
The wine is selected from four Central Otago vineyards: The Fusilier in Bannockburn, First Paddock in Gibbston, and Last Chance and Red Bank in Alexandra. These small sites are high-density planted to a range of Pinot Noir clones, cropped to under 5 tonnes per hectare, with most vineyard practices carried out by hand. The fruit is organically grown.
Producer Tasting Notes
Red fruited, dried herb and spicy aromatics dominate the nose which is followed by an elegant and textural mouthfeel. The wine shows poise, interest and persistence.

93+/100 ā Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion
āItās pure and detailed, with bright dark cherry, raspberry and redcurrant fruits cut with exotic spice, crushed rocks, wildflowers, wild thyme, leaf litter and charcuterie notes. Savoury, with a fine mineral crunch and a stony, composed finish.ā
