Serrat Close Planted Nebbiolo 2025 is a Yarra Valley Nebbiolo from Victoria, Australia, produced from vines planted in 2011.

This is the seventh release of Nebbiolo from the Serrat site, following no releases in 2022 and 2023 due to poor set during spring.

Vintage & Winemaking

The 2025 season was mild in spring, with good rainfall and soil moisture leading into one of the calmest flowering periods of recent years. Summer was warm, fine and exceptionally long, with no extreme heat and ideal ripening conditions.

Serrat notes that Nebbiolo is well suited to the Yarra Valley's long autumn weather, cold nights, foggy mornings and still warm days.

Appearance

Red wine appearance.

Aroma

Red fruits, rose petals and a hint of spice, with detailed and pristine Nebbiolo aromatics.

Palate

Seamless and fine, with tension between acidity and tannin. Detailed fruit carries through the palate with savoury, gently bitter amaro-like complexity.

Finish

Long and poised, with fine detail and a table-friendly savoury edge.

Food Pairing

Suggested pairings include beef and venison, T-bone steak, Longhorn wing rib and Longhorn bone-in-ribeye.

Cellaring Potential

This Nebbiolo has the acidity, tannin and savoury structure to develop with careful cellaring.
