Overview

The 2025 Freycinet Louis Pinot Noir is part of Freycinet Vineyard's Louis range, crafted as a vibrant, fruit-forward Pinot Noir for immediate enjoyment. Named in honour of French explorer Louis de Freycinet, it reflects the estate's long-standing connection to Tasmania's east coast and its cool-climate Pinot Noir tradition.

The nose is lifted and pretty, opening with bright strawberries, cherries and fresh cranberries. The palate is supple, juicy and immediately inviting, driven by pure red fruits, gentle fruit sweetness, soft tannins and a fine, understated finish.

Vintage

The 2025 season began with a strong spring after a typical winter of average temperatures and rainfall. Spring was slightly warmer and drier than usual, followed by a warm summer with well-timed rain. March and April turned noticeably drier, allowing even ripening and producing well-balanced fruit of outstanding quality.

Viticulture & Winemaking

Hand-picked and hand-pruned from Freycinet's 30-year-old estate vines. The wine was matured for five months in French oak, with 10% new barrels providing gentle structure while preserving the bright, generous red-fruit core.

Established in 1979 by Geoff and Susan Bull, Freycinet Vineyard is one of Tasmania's east coast pioneers. The 15-hectare family-owned estate is situated near the Freycinet Peninsula and produces wines that are 100% grown, made and bottled on site.
