Overview

Domaine Simha Rana Pinot Noir is an exceptional, allocation-only Tasmanian Pinot Noir from the Derwent Valley, produced in tiny quantities with only one demi-muid made, around 800 bottles.

Ethereal yet deeply founded, this wine carries the feeling of an epic love story. Aromas and flavours suggest spring peony perfume, red coral, truffle, mountain pepper, sandalwood and the mysterious beauty of Eastern poetry.

Method Naturel

The fruit comes from a cool-climate single vineyard in Tasmania's Derwent Valley at 42.6 degrees south. Grapes are handpicked on a flower day after the harvest moon, whole-bunch wild fermented with traditional pigeage and matured for 12 months in seasoned demi-muid.

The wine is basket pressed and bottled unfined and unfiltered, preserving natural balance, perfume and texture.
