Trophy – Best Rosé · Canberra and Region Wine Show 2025
The 2025 Shoreline Sangiovese Rosé was awarded the Trophy for Best Rosé at the 2025 Canberra and Region Wine Show, reinforcing its reputation as one of Australia's leading cool-climate rosés.
90/100 — Mike Bennie · The Wine Front · 2025 Vintage
"Sangio makes good rosé by and large, even when not done that well, but here done well. Gundagai and Canberra District fruit. Tart and tightly wound, Campari and soda water, softness met with a little chalky pucker, raspberry and just-ripe cherry, a dose of general minerality in there too. Energetic, a little lighter weight than hoped perhaps, but in that an aping of Provence-style wines through the lens of a more interesting variety. It's good."
About This Wine
The 2025 Collector Wines 'Shoreline' Sangiovese Rosé is a vibrant, dry rosé that captures the freshness and elegance of Australia's cool-climate vineyards. Crafted from Sangiovese grown in Tumblong (Gundagai) and Murrumbateman (Canberra District), the wine reflects Collector Wines' philosophy of producing expressive, food-friendly wines with purity and balance.
The grapes were hand-harvested during the cool mornings of March and early April before being whole-bunch pressed to extract only the faintest blush of colour. A cool fermentation preserved the wine's bright aromatics and lively natural acidity, resulting in a refined, Provence-inspired style.
Fresh aromas of mandarin, cherry, rose water and delicate spice lead into a crisp, refreshing palate with vibrant red berry flavours, subtle savoury texture and mouth-watering acidity. Bright, energetic and beautifully balanced, it finishes long and dry, making it an ideal partner for antipasti, seafood, Mediterranean cuisine and warm-weather entertaining.
