Polperro, based in Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula, is celebrated for its contemporary approach to cool-climate winemaking. With a focus on organic viticulture, minimal intervention, and precise expression of place, the estate produces Pinot Noir of purity, finesse, and quiet power. The Single Vineyard range showcases the most characterful parcels across Polperro’s hillside vineyards.
Vineyard
The 2024 Pinot Noir is sourced from select single-vineyard blocks planted on volcanic clay, ironstone and sandy loam — classic Red Hill soils that deliver perfume, structure, and fine natural acidity. Hand harvesting, wild fermentation, partial whole-bunch inclusion, and maturation in French oak (a small portion new) preserve the vineyard’s signature brightness and tension.
Vintage
The 2024 season in the Mornington Peninsula was cool, steady, and beautifully balanced. Mild temperatures and an elongated ripening period produced Pinot Noir of exceptional aromatic lift, purity of fruit, and fine structural definition. A standout year for elegant, terroir-driven wines.
Tasting Notes
The 2024 Polperro Single Vineyard Pinot Noir opens with aromas of red cherry, pomegranate, rose petal, and subtle forest floor. The palate is medium-bodied and silky, showing vibrant red fruits, gentle spice, and earthy nuances supported by fine-grained tannins. A bright acid line drives through a long, graceful finish. Elegant, pure, and classically Mornington Peninsula in style.
