Overview

Pio Cesare Il Nebbio Langhe Nebbiolo is a small-production red from Piemonte, created from the Pio family's desire to bring together two noble and refined varieties in the Langhe terroir: Nebbiolo and Pinot Noir.

The 2024 vintage is bright, supple and fragrant, with redcurrant fruit, fleshy sweetness, crisp freshness and soft, round tannins. Nebbiolo remains the protagonist of the blend, giving body, structure and the capacity to develop a more austere expression with age.

Vineyards

The fruit comes from Langhe vineyards cultivated across different exposures, selected to combine the character of Nebbiolo with the delicacy and aromatic lift of Pinot Noir.

Winemaking

Fermentation and very short maceration on skins take place in stainless steel tanks. After the accurate blending of Nebbiolo and Pinot Noir, Il Nebbio remains in tank until bottling, usually in March following the harvest.

Tasting Profile

Redcurrant flavours, fleshy fruit and crisp freshness are supported by soft, round tannins. The wine is approachable and expressive, with enough body and structure to age well. Best served slightly cool.
