Overview

Pio Cesare Gavi di Gavi DOCG is a classic Piemonte white made from Cortese, sourced from selected hillside vineyards across the Gavi area. It reflects the Pio Cesare family approach of blending multiple exposures and terroirs to create a complete and balanced expression of the appellation.

The 2024 vintage is crisp, mineral and food-friendly, showing ripe fruit, savoury spice, saline detail and good body. It is approachable in youth while retaining the structure and freshness for short to medium-term ageing.

Vineyards

The fruit comes from a blend of several hillside exposures in the Gavi area, each selected by the Pio family for its distinctive terroir composition and contribution to the final wine.

Winemaking

Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The wine rests in tank for a few months before bottling, usually in March, preserving freshness, purity and varietal clarity.

Tasting Profile

Salty and gently spicy, with ripe fruit aromas, mineral lift and a complex body. This is an easy wine to pair across a wide range of cuisines, while still showing the structure expected from quality Gavi.
