About This Wine

The 2024 Leflaive & Associes Auxey-Duresses Terroir comes from the lieu-dit Le Plain de Lugny, a south-east-facing site with clay-limestone soil.

The vineyard surface is 1ha11a, or 2.7 acres, planted in 1988, 1993 and 2012. The wine is made from organically grown Chardonnay grapes, harvested manually with grape sorting and parcel-by-parcel ripeness monitoring.

The 2024 vintage was a challenging and rainy year, with rainfall from January to October reaching one and a half times the usual amount. Flowering occurred in a humid atmosphere, and the cool, rainy season slowed vine growth and ripening. Harvesting began in Puligny on September 16, with modest yields but excellent sanitary condition of the remaining grapes.

About the Producer

Domaine Leflaive is based in Puligny-Montrachet and is one of the most important producers in the Cote de Beaune, focusing almost entirely on white wines made from Chardonnay.

The domaine was founded by Joseph Leflaive, who purchased vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet in 1905. Anne Claude Leflaive later converted the vineyards to biodynamics and is considered a pioneer of biodynamics in Burgundy.
