The 2024 Chatto Isle Pinot Noir is a beautifully poised and expressive release from one of Tasmania’s most respected small producers. Jim Chatto, long regarded as one of Australia’s finest Pinot Noir specialists, applies an uncompromising focus on site selection, precision viticulture and minimal-intervention winemaking. The Isle Pinot Noir is sourced from carefully chosen parcels across Tasmania, reflecting the state’s breadth of cool-climate character while maintaining Chatto’s hallmark finesse.

The 2024 vintage across Tasmania delivered a long, cool growing season — ideal conditions for Pinot Noir. Mild temperatures, slow ripening and excellent fruit health produced grapes with vibrant natural acidity, fine tannins and beautifully detailed aromatics. This vintage shows purity, energy and structural elegance, hallmarks of Tasmania’s rising prominence in world-class Pinot Noir.

The wine opens with lifted aromas of red cherry, wild raspberry, cranberry, rose petals and subtle forest floor. Notes of crushed herbs, spice, mineral tension and a hint of rhubarb add complexity. On the palate, the 2024 Isle Pinot Noir is silky, fresh and finely textured. Bright red fruits glide across a medium-bodied frame supported by fine, powdery tannins and lively acidity. Gentle oak handling adds understated layers of clove, subtle toast and sweet spice without overshadowing the purity of fruit.

The finish is long, graceful and savoury, carrying lingering notes of red berries, earth and delicate whole-bunch perfume. As with all Chatto wines, balance is the key — this release offers immediate charm while promising graceful development over the next decade.
