Awards, Ratings & Reviews

97/100 — Huon Hooke, The Real Review · 2024 Vintage · 18 December 2025 · Drinking Window: 2025-2039
"Deep red laced with purple. Serious bouquet of dark cherry, plum, smoky bitumen, spices and roasting meats/charcuterie, oak perceptible as part of the complexity. The wine is fuller bodied than usual for this maker, and enlivened by notable acidity, which helps power a very long finish and aftertaste. A powerful, concentrated pinot with terrific depth and persistence. Impressive gravitas."

96/100 — Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion · 2024 Vintage · Tasted: 23 December 2025 · Published: 27 April 2026 · Drinking Window: 2026-2040
"Lots of flavour – from macerated plums and cherries, Middle Eastern spices and a slight wild aroma (like bresaola) to cedary oak and quince pomace. Full bodied, densely packed tannins and lots of refreshing acidity. Another year or so in bottle will see this change dramatically."

About This Wine

The 2024 Bindi Block 8 Pinot Noir is a Macedon Ranges Pinot Noir from Victoria, Australia.

Block 8 is a powerful close-planted site that adjoins Block 5 as it sweeps north. Bindi's vines grow in a mix of ancient stony Ordovician soils and younger volcanic soil.

Producer Notes

The 2024 Block 8 combines rich sweet fruit with earth and savouriness. There's a lot going on here from this powerful close planted site that adjoins Block 5 as it sweeps north. Paradoxically, it is both deeply flavoured and closed at the same time. Ripe red and dark cherry and plum are evident with sweet gingerbread spices working with undergrowth and meatiness. The palate is rich and full, creamy, juicy, savoury, expansive and long. Seven plus years cellaring will be advantageous to begin with.

About the Producer

Bindi farms vines and manages the land of Ningulabul's Gunung Willam Balluk. All Bindi labelled wines are grown in the Bindi vineyard and made by Bindi.

The vines are intensively managed by hand and harvested by hand. Bindi wines are made without adding yeast, yeast nutrient, enzyme or fining agents.
