Established in 1975, Balnaves has earned a reputation as one of Coonawarra's leading family-owned wineries, producing wines that consistently balance regional character with modern elegance. The 2024 growing season provided ideal conditions for Chardonnay, with cool temperatures and a long, even ripening period allowing the fruit to develop intense flavour while retaining bright natural acidity. Careful harvesting and gentle handling ensured exceptional fruit purity and freshness.

Whole-bunch pressed and fermented in a combination of French oak barrels and stainless steel, the wine underwent maturation on fine lees to enhance texture and complexity while preserving its vibrant fruit profile. Judicious oak use adds subtle richness without dominating the wine's elegant style.

The bouquet is fresh and expressive, revealing aromas of white peach, nectarine, grapefruit, and lemon zest, complemented by notes of citrus blossom, roasted cashew, oatmeal, and subtle vanilla spice.
