2024 Babich Wines Select Blocks Sauvignon Blanc 750ml

Overview

Babich Select Blocks Sauvignon Blanc is a vibrant, sophisticated Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc produced from selected organic vineyard blocks in the Wairau and Awatere Valleys. Juicy yet soft, it combines purity and freshness with notable depth, texture and body.

Vineyard & Viticulture

The fruit is sourced from selected organic vineyard blocks across Marlborough’s Wairau and Awatere Valleys. Various Sauvignon Blanc clones are used, with the grapes machine harvested.

Winemaking

The grapes were quickly crushed and pressed before fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Thirty percent underwent wild fermentation with indigenous yeast, with the balance inoculated, at temperatures ranging from 14°C to 21°C. Thirty percent of the wine underwent malolactic fermentation.

Producer Tasting Notes

Fennel and tea with gooseberry, lime and floral notes.

Silky and densely textured with sweet fruit on entry, lemon, stone fruits, and green tropical flavours. The mid palate introduces fresh garden herbs and guava with lingering slate and lime on the finish. Refreshing and full of interest.
