2024 Vintage | Tasted: Oct 2025
"Perfumed and pretty, showing the quality of the beautiful 2024 vintage. Aromas of sliced oranges and strawberries. Some crushed stones. Medium body, firm tannins and crunchy fruity at the end. Linear and bright. Drink now."
Cameron Douglas MS (94 / 100)
2024 Vintage | Tasted: Aug 2025 | When to drink: 2024 to 2032
"A vibrant bouquet of fruit reflecting the variety and stellar vintage with aromas and flavours of ripe dark skinned red berry fruits, plum and cherry, baked raspberry and earth-smoke of dark clay and stone. Thereās a judicious measure of wood with suggestions of some clove dust and vanilla then a gentle wood smoke quality. Fine tannins and medium+ acid line a wine ready to drink today and through 2032."

About This Wine
Crimson is a selection of parcels from younger Pinot Noir vines from various vineyards on the Martinborough Terrace. In their youth, vines tend to be more fruit expressive, gaining more complexity around 15-20 years. What began as a youthful expression has evolved to carry greater depth, a silky palate and a refined edge, while remaining wonderfully vibrant.
From its very first vintage in 2003, Crimson has supported the work of Project Crimson, a trust dedicated to protecting and restoring New Zealandās native red-flowering RÄtÄ and PÅhutukawa trees.
Winemaking
Fruit was hand-harvested with the majority destemmed and a small parcel whole bunch fermented. Indigenous yeast fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks before the wine was racked off. The wine was aged in French oak barrels and cellared for 10 months.
About the Winery

Founded by Clive Paton in 1980, it is one of Martinborough's original four producers. The estate vineyards are certified organic, and all work is done by hand. Winemaking is led by Helen Masters, regarded as one of the Southern Hemisphere's leading winemakers.
