āMade from MV6 and an old clone from Great Western planted between ā69 and ā74. Fully destemmed and 38% new oak. A bright ruby red. Old vines, low yields and a cool year have produced another terrific Yeringberg pinot. Gently meaty with aromas of black cherry, blueberry, brown spices and lightly crushed violets. Concentrated, structured and long, this kept opening up with air, meaning that, while it can be approached now, you really want to have a bottle or three when it begins to hit its peak over the next five to 10 years plus.ā

About This Wine
Yeringberg Pinot Noir is produced in the Yarra Valley from MV6 and an old clone from Great Western, with vines planted between 1969 and 1974.
About the Winery
A 19th century Yarra Valley pioneer, Yeringbergās renaissance began when third-generation winegrowers Guill and Katherine de Pury replanted vines in 1969 and made their first commercial wine in 1974.
Since 2008, the wines have been made by daughter Sandra de Pury, while her brother David de Pury, who holds a PhD in plant physiology, manages the vineyards as well as Yeringbergās grass-fed lamb and cattle.
Committed to the future, a new winery is in the design phase and a new vine program began in 2020 to mitigate against climate change and phylloxera, establishing two new vineyard sites on south- and east-facing slopes.
