2023 Wirra Wirra RSW Shiraz 750ml

The 2023 Wirra Wirra RSW Shiraz is a refined and highly acclaimed expression of McLaren Vale Shiraz, combining concentrated dark fruit with savoury complexity, polished tannins and impressive balance.

Inky red with a ruby edge, the wine opens with fleshy plum, blackberry and woody spices, complemented by subtle charcuterie. The palate delivers red plum, creamy milk chocolate, coffee and vanilla bean, with bright concentrated fruit framed by fine, powdery tannins and a persistent savoury finish.

Fruit is sourced from three Blewitt Springs vineyards together with Wirra Wirra’s estate Sandhill vineyard in McLaren Flat. The wine spent 18 months in French oak, with 23% new oak, adding structure and complexity without overwhelming the fruit.

The cooler 2023 season has produced an especially elegant and detailed RSW, showing blackberry, blueberry and plum alongside dark chocolate, black pepper, clove, cardamom, dried herbs and subtle earthy characters. Its fine tannin structure, freshness and depth suggest excellent long-term cellaring potential.
