Origin and Winemaking

This single-vineyard Shiraz originates from the historic Stonegarden block at Hutton Vale Farm in Eden Valley. Crafted by sixth-generation Barossa winemaker Dan Standish, the grapes benefited from an extended 2023 growing season, with late harvesting in May allowing for enhanced ripeness and refinement. The wine is produced using 100 percent whole-bunch fermentation and is bottled under natural cork and wax seal.

Tasting Profile

Nose: A highly expressive bouquet featuring layers of ink, mulberries, violets, espresso, rose petals, cinnamon toast, raspberry liqueur, and exotic spices.

Palate: Silky and finely textured, offering rich flavors of black cherry, plum, dark berries, licorice, pomegranate, and sandalwood. Notes of petrichor and forest floor add depth. The tannins are tightly structured yet elegant, balanced by fresh acidity.

Finish: Savoury and enduring, with lingering impressions of espresso, graphite, and cohesive spice.

Awarded 98+ points by Erin Larkin of Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate for its seamless balance and texture. Dan Standish considers this one of the most complex and captivating vintages in his portfolio. While approachable in its youth, this wine is built to age gracefully through 2045 and beyond.
