Noon Winery, founded by Drew and Rae Noon in McLaren Vale, is one of Australia’s most admired boutique estates. Vineyard
Fruit for the Eclipse is sourced primarily from the 1930s-planted Borrett family vineyards at Langhorne Creek and the estate’s own McLaren Vale site. These dry-grown, low-yielding bush vines sit on sandy loam over limestone, producing intensely flavoured berries with excellent natural concentration. Traditional winemaking includes open fermentation, basket pressing, and maturation in seasoned French oak to preserve purity and texture.
Vintage
The 2023 season in South Australia was cool and long, delivering fruit of outstanding brightness, fragrance, and balance. Grenache and Shiraz excelled under these conditions, producing wines with lifted aromatics, refined tannins, and exceptional finesse — a superb vintage for Noon’s elegant, expressive style.
Tasting Notes
The 2023 Eclipse opens with vibrant aromas of raspberry, blackberry, red plum, and dried rose, lifted by hints of spice and warm earth. The palate is full-bodied yet beautifully balanced — plush red and black fruits supported by fine, ripe tannins and subtle savoury complexity. A long, energetic finish echoes notes of spice, mineral, and dark berry. Rich, textural, and effortlessly drinkable, with classic Noon purity.
