The Gustave Lorentz Gewurztraminer Reserve showcases the aromatic splendor of the Gewurztraminer grape, a variety that thrives in Alsace's unique terroir. This Reserve is a symphony of exotic aromas, including lychee, rose petal, and spices, creating an intoxicating bouquet that is both refined and powerful. On the palate, it balances its lush sweetness with a structured acidity, leading to a long, satisfying finish. Perfectly suited for pairing with spicy Asian cuisine, strong cheeses, or rich, foie gras, this Gewurztraminer Reserve offers a tasting experience that is as memorable as it is flavorful.

Gustave Lorentz
The Lorentz family has been making wine since 1836 in the heart of the Alsace. Charles Lorentz Sr. developed his vineyards on the hills of Altenberg de Bergheim, in the foothills of the Vosges Mountains. Today the Estate has grown to 79 acres in this extraordinary terroir, with 3.71 acres planted on the hills of the Grand Cru Kanzlerberg and 29.65 acres in the Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergheim. The current owner/winemaker Georges Lorentz, is the seventh generation of the family firm, headquartered in the medieval village of Bergheim, in the Haut-Rhin.

The Vineyard
This wine is produced from 100 % Gewurztraminer grapes from the classified Grand Cru site of the Altenberg of Bergheim vineyard owned by Gustave Lorentz. The dominant soil of this area is clay and limestone ; the vines from which this wine is produced are very old, between 30 and 50 years old. The pride of Bergheim winegrowers, the Altenberg de Bergheim has been renowned for its fine wines since the end of 13th century.

Altenberg de Bergheim Grand Cru wines are remarkable for the perfect balance between their subtle, distinguished aroma and their powerful, virile body. They are gastronomic wines par excellence.

Tasting Notes
Straw yellow in colour. Rich concentrated aromas of botrytised and exotic fruit.  This is a powerful and complex wine on the palate verging on the dry side but with roundness and a very long finish (semi-dry).
