Overview
La Quinta is Carlo Ferriniās pure Sangiovese interpretation of Montalcino outside the traditional Rosso di Montalcino designation. Named after the fifth vineyard planted at Giodo, the 2023 combines bright red fruit, floral and savoury detail with fresh acidity and finely shaped tannins, offering a more immediately approachable expression of the estateās Sangiovese.
Vineyard
La Quinta is made from 100% Sangiovese grown at Giodo in Montalcino. The estate lies between SantāAngelo in Colle and SantāAntimo and today comprises six hectares of vineyards. Carlo Ferrini selected eight Sangiovese clones from those that had impressed him most throughout his career, with vineyard management focused on careful selection and sustainable practices.
Winemaking
Following fermentation, the 2023 La Quinta matures for approximately 12 months, with 40% aged in 2,500- and 3,500-litre vats and 60% in cocciopesto amphorae. The wine then receives a minimum of approximately six months of bottle ageing before release.

Producer
Giodo was founded in Montalcino in 2002 by renowned winemaker Carlo Ferrini, who selected his first hectare after years of searching for an ideal site for Sangiovese. Today the estate comprises six hectares of vineyards between SantāAngelo in Colle and SantāAntimo, with Carloās daughter Bianca also closely involved in the project.
The name Giodo is a tribute to Carloās parents, Giovanna and Donatello. The estate is built around meticulous vineyard selection, sustainable farming and an emphasis on elegance, balance and persistence, with Sangiovese at the centre of its Tuscan wines.
