Overview

Domaine Ramonet Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is one of the great collectible white Burgundies, produced from Chardonnay grown on the Montrachet hill. Ramonet is among the most respected names in Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet, with its grand cru whites regarded as benchmark wines for depth, longevity and precision.

The domaine owns approximately 0.6 hectares in Bâtard-Montrachet, making this a very limited wine from one of Burgundy's most prestigious grand cru vineyards.

About Domaine Ramonet

Pierre Ramonet began acquiring land on the Montrachet hill in the 1930s, and by the 1950s the domaine already held parcels in several premier and grand cru vineyards. Today the estate owns more than 15 hectares and is run by Noël and Jean-Claude Ramonet, continuing its reputation for some of Burgundy's most highly regarded Chardonnay.

Viticulture & Winemaking

Old vines and low yields are central to Ramonet's philosophy, and vines younger than 18 years are not used for the top cuvées. After traditional fermentation, the white wines remain on lees for an extended period, with bâtonnage used sparingly. The wines are aged with around 33% new oak.
