A refined Pinot Noir from Domaine Michel Gros, produced in the Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits. The appellation’s elevated vineyards are known for producing fresh, perfumed expressions of Pinot Noir, while the Gros family’s long history in Burgundy brings a classical approach to both vineyard work and cellar ageing.

Winemaking

Domaine Michel Gros follows a consistent approach to red-wine vinification across its appellations, adapting details according to the vintage. Grapes are hand harvested, immediately sorted and destemmed before fermentation in vat. During fermentation the wines undergo pumping over and punch-downs. After fermentation, the wines settle and mature for the first six months in larger oak vessels, followed by approximately 12 months in older French oak barrels.

Producer

Domaine Michel Gros is based in Vosne-Romanée and forms part of one of Burgundy’s longstanding wine families, whose history in the region dates to 1830. Michel Gros established his own domaine following the division of the family estate in 1995. The domaine is particularly recognised for Pinot Noir and owns or farms vineyards across a range of Bourgogne, village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru appellations.
