The 2023 Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clavoillon is a biodynamically farmed Chardonnay from one of Burgundy's most revered white wine domaines. Clavoillon is a substantial Premier Cru holding for Leflaive, planted on clay-limestone soils and known for producing refined, mineral-driven Puligny-Montrachet with depth, precision and long ageing potential.

Vintage & Winemaking

The Clavoillon vineyard is planted on clay-limestone soil, with vines dating from 1962, 1972, 1973, 1981, 1983, 1988 and 2012 across 4.69 hectares. The Chardonnay grapes are grown biodynamically and harvested by hand, with grape sorting and parcel-by-parcel ripeness monitoring.

Winemaking follows Domaine Leflaive's traditional approach: long, gentle pneumatic pressing, 24-hour decanting, then transfer to oak casks for alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged for 12 months in barrels on lees, followed by 10 months in stainless steel tank on fine lees, with optional fining and light filtration if required.
