The 2023 Benjamin Leroux Savigny-Lès-Beaune is a beautifully refined village Burgundy that showcases the elegance, purity, and precision for which Benjamin Leroux has become one of the Côte de Beaune's most celebrated winemakers. Sourced from carefully selected old-vine parcels across the appellation, this Pinot Noir offers a superb expression of Savigny-Lès-Beaune's charming and approachable style.
Since establishing his own domaine in 2007, Benjamin Leroux has earned international acclaim for producing terroir-driven Burgundies of exceptional finesse. Working closely with trusted growers alongside his own vineyard holdings, he applies meticulous vineyard selection and minimal-intervention winemaking to preserve the individuality of each site.
Located just north of Beaune, Savigny-Lès-Beaune is renowned for producing elegant, perfumed Pinot Noir with bright red fruit, silky tannins, and excellent ageing potential. The 2023 vintage benefited from a long, balanced growing season, allowing the grapes to achieve outstanding ripeness while retaining freshness and vibrant natural acidity.
The grapes were hand-harvested and carefully sorted before gentle fermentation using indigenous yeasts. Maturation in French oak barrels, with a modest proportion of new oak, enhances texture and complexity while allowing the purity of the fruit and vineyard character to remain the focus.
The bouquet is lifted and expressive, revealing aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry, raspberry, and cranberry, complemented by notes of rose petals, violets, forest floor, subtle spice, and crushed stone. The palate is medium-bodied and beautifully balanced, combining vibrant red berry fruit with silky tannins, lively acidity, and a fine mineral backbone. Elegant and persistent, the finish reflects the hallmark precision and transparency of Benjamin Leroux's wines.
Approachable in its youth, the 2023 Savigny-Lès-Beaune will continue to gain complexity over the next 8–12 years.
