Overview

Pio Cesare Langhe Nebbiolo is an essential wine in the Pio Cesare range, offering a refined and approachable expression of Nebbiolo shaped by serious vineyard selection and extended cellar ageing.

The 2022 vintage combines flashy, intense fruit with body, structure and round tannins that remain balanced and elegant. It carries the fragrance and finesse of Nebbiolo while retaining genuine ageing potential.

Vineyards

The fruit comes from selected sites across the Langhe, where calcareous, clay and compact marly soils meet more alluvial and sandy soils. Over time, the Pio family has dedicated these chosen parcels to the production of Langhe Nebbiolo.

Winemaking

Fermentation and long maceration on skins take place in stainless steel tanks. The final blend of vineyard locations is aged in large French and Eastern European oak barrels for nearly 18 months, with a small portion in French oak barriques, followed by long bottle ageing.

Tasting Profile

Bright and intense Nebbiolo fruit is supported by good body and structure. The tannins are round rather than overwhelming, giving the wine finesse, fragrance and a polished, food-friendly profile.
