Overview

The 2022 Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot Les Suchots is a Premier Cru Pinot Noir from Vosne-Romanée, combining ripe fruit, floral perfume and a finely worked structure. It is a substantial expression of a vineyard positioned among the village’s celebrated Grand Cru sites.

Les Suchots lies beside Richebourg, Romanée-Saint-Vivant and Échézeaux. The domaine cultivates four parcels within the climat, where clay-limestone soils provide the foundation for a wine of depth, mineral definition and supple tannins.

Vintage & Winemaking

The fruit is picked late and fermented as whole clusters, with fermentation and maceration lasting two to three weeks. Punching down and pumping over are followed by horizontal pressing. The wine then matures in barrel for 18–24 months, in keeping with the domaine’s preference for a measured, extended élevage.

Aroma: Ripe fruit and cassis meet violet, earth and spice.

Palate: Dense mineral detail and silky tannins support the fruit, combining depth with elegance.

Finish: Long and sustained, with the structure to develop in bottle.

Based in Vosne-Romanée, Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot is run by brothers Yves and Jean-Pierre Confuron. The family’s approach centres on carefully tended vineyards, late picking and whole-cluster fermentation, with extended maturation intended to preserve the individuality of its Côte de Nuits sites.
