Auxey-Duresses stands at the entrance to the valley leading from the Côte de Beaune towards the Hautes Côtes. Les Duresses belongs to its small group of Premier Cru climats. The Duresses hillside faces east to south-east, with pebbly marl and limestone soils that distinguish it from the neighbouring sectors devoted to white wine.

About the Producer

Philippe Bouzereau represents the ninth generation of a Meursault winegrowing family. He took responsibility for the domaine in 2006, assisted by his brother Charles. Their vineyards form a mosaic of parcels across the Côte de Beaune, including Meursault, Auxey-Duresses and Chassagne-Montrachet.

The family’s approach places vineyard health and individual parcel character at the centre of its work. That attention to place gives Les Duresses its context within a domaine whose wines extend beyond its better-known Meursault holdings.
