The 2021 Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot Derrière la Grange is a Premier Cru Pinot Noir from Chambolle-Musigny. This small monopole vineyard brings a distinct, single-site identity to the domaine’s traditional style, combining expressive fruit and floral detail with a structured palate.

Its stony clay-limestone soils form the setting for a wine whose character is built around tension, fine tannins and sustained length. The combination of depth and refinement distinguishes this bottling within the domaine’s Chambolle range.

Vintage & Winemaking

Ripe fruit is hand harvested and selected before whole-cluster cold maceration. Fermentation is managed with punching down and pumping over, followed by pressing in a horizontal press. Barrel maturation extends over 18–24 months, giving the wine time to develop before bottling.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Red and dark fruit are accompanied by rose, violet, spice and earthy mineral notes.

Palate: Fruit depth is balanced by lively acidity and fine tannins, with an initially firm structure.

Finish: A long, finely textured finish carries the fruit and mineral detail.

Based in Vosne-Romanée, Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot is run by brothers Yves and Jean-Pierre Confuron. The family’s approach centres on carefully tended vineyards, late picking and whole-cluster fermentation, with extended maturation intended to preserve the individuality of its Côte de Nuits sites.
