Founded in the 1930s, the Ceretto family has been instrumental in establishing Barolo's international reputation. Bricco Rocche is one of the smallest and most prestigious crus in the entire Barolo appellation. Situated in the heart of Castiglione Falletto, the vineyard enjoys an exceptional south-facing position with limestone-rich Tortonian marl soils that consistently produce Nebbiolo of remarkable perfume, finesse, and structure. Wines from Bricco Rocche are celebrated for combining the elegance of La Morra with the depth and longevity of Serralunga, making them among the most collectible Barolos produced.
The outstanding 2021 vintage is widely regarded as one of the finest in recent decades. A long, even growing season with warm days and cool autumn nights produced Nebbiolo with exceptional concentration, aromatic purity, vibrant acidity, and beautifully ripe tannins—conditions ideally suited to the Bricco Rocche vineyard.
The grapes were hand-harvested before gentle fermentation with extended maceration to maximise complexity and structure. The wine was then matured in large Slavonian oak casks, preserving the purity of fruit while allowing the distinctive character of this Grand Cru vineyard to shine.
The bouquet is extraordinarily complex and perfumed, revealing layers of wild rose, violet, red cherry, raspberry, blood orange, pomegranate, and crushed strawberry. As the wine unfolds, notes of liquorice, star anise, tar, cedar, graphite, truffle, dried herbs, and forest floor emerge, displaying remarkable depth and precision.
The palate is powerful yet effortlessly graceful. Silky, finely etched tannins support concentrated red berry fruit, while vibrant natural acidity and a profound mineral backbone provide exceptional balance and energy.
