Yarra Yering Carrodus Viognier is a concentrated, cellar-worthy expression from a dedicated parcel planted in 1982. Whole-bunch pressing and oak maturation combine Viognierā€™s generous fruit and aromatic character with freshness, structure and balance.

Vineyard and Winemaking

The Viognier vines were planted in 1982 in the Yarra Valley. The fruit was whole-bunch pressed directly to oak, creating a textured and complex white wine with excellent varietal character.

ā€œFrom vines planted in 1982. Whole-bunched pressed to oak. Interestingly, the skins are frozen to be used in the Dry Red No 2. A bright green gold. Marzipan, cumquat marmalade, candied ginger and lemongrass can all be found in this round, generously flavoured yet well-balanced wine.ā€
