“From the Lusatia Park vineyard planted at Woori Yallock in 1985 and purchased by the De Bortoli family in 2016. A combination of whole-berry and whole-bunch ferments and matured in new and used French barriques for 8 months. A medium ruby crimson. Bright, with briary red fruits, orange peel and a little allspice. Good depth and crunch on the palate, this relies as much on the wine’s fresh acidity for its structure as it does on its fine, silky tannins. A lovely wine from this great site in the Yarra.”

About This Wine

This is a single-vineyard Pinot Noir from the Lusatia Park vineyard at Woori Yallock in the upper reaches of the Yarra Valley. The north-facing, De Bortoli family-owned vineyard was planted in 1985, with close vine spacing and deep red basalt soils, and is worked largely by hand.

The 2020 season was cool and late, with timely rainfall and near-perfect growing conditions, resulting in good natural acidity alongside generous colour and flavour.
