Penfolds Magill Estate Shiraz is a single-vineyard wine and a pure expression of the unique terroir of Magill Estate in South Australia. Reintroduced as a single-vineyard wine in 1983, it is made in the classic Penfolds method and distinguished within the portfolio by its single-vineyard origins, unique terroir and very limited production.

Vineyard

The 2020 Magill Estate Shiraz comes exclusively from Magill Estate, the historic Penfolds vineyard on the edge of Adelaide. Its distinctive mottled red clay soils contribute to the vineyard's signature fruit expression.

Penfolds: “Undeniably a wine of its place, a pure expression of the unique terroir of Magill Estate. Signature blue fruits, lavender, liquored dark chocolate. Fresh green coffee beans. The ancient mottled red clay soils of Magill Estate deliver their signature fruit characters of dried cranberries, succulent blackberry, mulberry conserve. Fresh sage, dried bay leaves, thyme flowers. A gravelly minerality on the finish, taught. Super-fine tannins. A wonderful expression of this unique vineyard.”
