93/100 — Philip Rich, Halliday Wine Companion · 2024 Vintage · Published: 3 March 2025
“A bright ruby crimson. Aromas of brambly red fruits, light rose petal scents and a touch of spice. Even better on the light- to medium-bodied, brightly fruited, supple and balanced palate. Fine-knit tannins round out a wine that's designed to enjoy now but that will still be looking good three to four years from now.”
About This Wine
The 2024 vintage began with ideal flowering conditions and good fruit set, leading to moderate yields. A cool and mild December was followed by significant January rainfall, before warm and dry conditions returned, resulting in a fast and healthy ripening period.
These conditions produced wines with strong acidity, balance and flavour.
100% hand-picked fruit. The Syrah component underwent whole bunch carbonic maceration, while Pinot Noir was destemmed, cold soaked for four days, and fermented as whole berries.
The wine was matured for six months in a combination of large format (2000L) and small format (225L and 500L) French oak barrels before bottling by gravity with no fining or filtration.
Producer Notes
Great acidity, balance and flavour.
