About This Wine
Coronamento is an Italian word and translates to "Crowning of one's achievements". The 2019 Coronamento Reserve Nebbiolo is part of Pizzini's Pinnacle Range of handcrafted, rare and special wines.
The fruit selected for the Coronamento is grown on the highest vineyard site on Pizzini's King Valley property, at 350 metres above sea level. The vineyard was planted using a clone of Nebbiolo named Nebbiolo 230.
The 2019 growing season was even with near perfect conditions. A December storm produced 100mm of rain, helping keep vineyards in good condition for summer temperatures in late January.
Producer Notes
Deep garnet red in colour with a classic orange hue typical of this variety. Complex aromas of dried roses, violets, spice, dark fruits, earth and an underlying tarriness. The palate is rich and powerful with flavours of star anise, prunes, chocolate and black tea. The textured tannins and full flavour make for a wine of great poise and structure. Enjoy with spiced pork ribs, game meats or aged cheese.
About the Producer
Pizzini is based in King Valley, Victoria. The family planted its vines more than 30 years ago and continues to grow Italian varietal wines in Victoria's King Valley.
