About This Wine
Penfolds Bin 150 Marananga Shiraz 2019 is a sub-regional expression that captures the essence of the Barossa Valley.
Sourced from the ancient red soils of Marananga, located near the heart of the Barossa floor, this Shiraz reflects the warm, dry conditions and dense clay loams that yield wines of power, balance, and longevity.
Each vintage is crafted using a careful mix of French and American oak, both new and seasoned, in the unmistakable Penfolds way.
“Reflective of the Barossa in this year – more a facet of the earth below…”
— Peter Gago, Penfolds Chief Winemaker
Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep crimson with brilliant purple hues.
Nose: Lifted aromas of blackberry, chinotto, dark chocolate, roasted chestnut, and marzipan.
Palate: Beautifully balanced and vigorous, showing inky blackberry, elderberry, and praline flavours with fine chalky tannins. Layers of roasted chestnut, crème brûlée, and espresso add depth. Finishes claret-firm with persistent dark fruit, superb oak integration, and a lasting sense of place.
A wine of exceptional individuality and Barossa identity.
