Situated in the hills of Montalcino, San Polo’s vineyards benefit from excellent elevation, diverse soils, and abundant sunshine, producing Sangiovese of remarkable concentration and complexity. The warm and dry 2017 vintage yielded smaller crops with intense flavour concentration, resulting in a Brunello of richness, structure, and immediate appeal while retaining the hallmark freshness of the region.

Following hand harvesting, the fruit underwent careful fermentation and extended maceration to extract colour, flavour, and fine tannins. The wine was then matured in oak for several years, in accordance with Brunello di Montalcino DOCG regulations, before further bottle ageing to achieve harmony and complexity.

The bouquet is richly layered with aromas of black cherry, red plum, and wild berries, complemented by notes of dried rose, tobacco, leather, Mediterranean herbs, spice, and earthy undertones. The palate is full-bodied and structured, with firm yet polished tannins, vibrant acidity, and impressive depth. Savoury complexity and mineral nuances carry through to a long, elegant finish.
