Overview
Chateau Lynch-Moussas is a Fifth Growth of the 1855 Classification from Pauillac. Cabernet Sauvignon dominates the 2017 blend, giving the wine classic Médoc structure and freshness, while Merlot adds roundness and fruit. The vintage shows dark berries, floral complexity, polished tannins and a distinctly mineral finish.
Vineyard
The estate is planted on gravel and clay soils in Pauillac. Cabernet Sauvignon represents approximately 75% of the vineyard, with Merlot accounting for the remaining 25%. The 2017 Grand Vin itself is a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Merlot.
Winemaking
Fermentation and maceration took place for 15 to 20 days in temperature-controlled vats. The wine was then matured for 18 months in oak barrels, comprising 50% new oak and 50% one-year-old barrels.
