90/100 — Falstaff · 2016 Vintage · Tasted: Mar 2019
“Dark ruby garnet, purple reflections, subtle edge brightening. Red forest berry confit, some vanilla, delicate herbal savouriness, cherries and fresh orange zest. Medium body, lean, red berry fruit, subtle tannin, lemony finish.”

1 Star — Le Guide Hachette des Vins · 2016 Vintage · Awarded: 2020

About This Wine

Ségla is the second wine of Château Rauzan-Ségla, produced in a more approachable style than the grand vin.

The 2016 vintage opens with notes of black fruit, cherry, blackberry, pink pepper, incense, roasted coffee, nutmeg, liquorice, violets, mint and chocolate.

The blend is composed of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 53% Merlot, 1% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc.

Weather conditions included a mild and very rainy winter, a cool and wet spring, a dry and very sunny summer, and a mild autumn with a stormy spell.

The harvest took place from 20 September to 15 October 2016.

Producer Notes

A passionate, spirited character with fruity aromas that will blow you away from the very first sip. This wine has undoubtedly inherited its big brother’s elegance, the trademark of this prestigious wine estate.
