Overview

Koomilya DC Block Shiraz is a single-block McLaren Vale Shiraz from one of Stephen Pannell's most distinctive parcels at the Koomilya vineyard. The 2015 comes from old vines and combines concentrated dark fruit with powerful yet finely assembled tannins, earning 97-point reviews from both James Halliday and James Suckling.

Vineyard

The DC Block is a single Shiraz parcel within the Koomilya vineyard in McLaren Vale. The 2015 was sourced from approximately 80-year-old vines, reflecting the depth and character of this historic site.

Winemaking

The fruit was hand-picked and spent 10 days on skins before pressing. The wine was then matured in used puncheons for 14 months, allowing the vineyard character and fruit to remain at the forefront.
