Overview
A beautifully composed Barossa red blend from the renowned Henschke family, the 2015 Keyneton Euphonium combines 66% Shiraz, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. Sourced from vineyards across Eden Valley and Barossa Valley, including Shiraz vines up to 50 years old, this distinguished wine offers exceptional fruit concentration, aromatic complexity and impressive ageing potential.
This Museum & Rare Release has been carefully bottle-aged in the Henschke cellar, showcasing the elegance and maturity of an outstanding Barossa vintage.
Vintage
The 2015 growing season began with a traditionally wet winter, mild spring and excellent fruit set, providing a welcome return to favourable conditions after four vintages of below-average yields. A dry, mild summer encouraged healthy fruit development, excellent natural acidity and remarkable flavour concentration.
Rainfall in late January refreshed the vineyards during veraison, particularly benefiting older dry-grown vines. Mild conditions from February through April allowed a relatively even ripening period, producing wines of exceptional fruit purity, balance and longevity.
Vineyard
The blend incorporates Shiraz from vines up to 50 years old in Eden Valley and Barossa Valley, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc from selected vineyards across both regions.
Winemaking
Harvested between 18 February and 15 April 2015, the wine was matured for 18 months in French oak hogsheads, comprising 20% new oak and 80% seasoned oak, before blending and bottling. The wine was subsequently bottle-aged in the Henschke cellar for museum release.

Producer
Established in 1868, Henschke is one of Australia's most celebrated family-owned wineries, renowned for its exceptional single-vineyard wines and generations of winemaking heritage in Eden Valley.
Keyneton Euphonium pays tribute to the musical traditions of the Henschke family and the historic Barossa village of Keyneton, established by pastoralist Joseph Keynes in 1842. The Henschke Family Brass Band was founded in 1888 by second-generation Paul Gotthard Henschke and later led by third-generation Paul Alfred Henschke.
The wine takes its name from a beautifully restored 19th-century B-flat euphonium, once played in the family brass band and preserved today as part of the Henschke family's heritage.
